Take the no. 19A or 49 bus from Port Ferry to termial stop Dierkower Kreuz. Then take the no. 3 tram (towards Neuer Friedhof) to the zoo stop. From the railway station, take the no. 6 tram (towards Neuer Friedhof) to the zoo stop.
